Bohème assistant editor Sabrina Laurent was born in Paris, France on 20 January 1981.
Sabrina started writing stories at the age of 9, after having a sudden revelation when she discovered the power of creativity and the existence of an old typewriter among her belongings. Since then, she's written several novels that she either never finished or wasn't satisfied with, so she keeps working to improve them. She also writes poetry, whenever she gets the inspiration, and has written one short story, "The Art Assassin" (August 2002). One of her prose poems was published in the January-February 2002 Issue of Écrire Magazine, a French literary publication.
While writing remains her main creative field, Sabrina has recently started to draw and paint. Her paintings are impressionist in style, and mainly executed in oil and watercolour. Some other works were executed in gouache, acrylic and pastel as well. Sabrina has also been interested in calligraphic art for a few years and enjoys creating handicrafts.
Sabrina speaks, in addition to French, fluent English and good Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Italian. She's also attempting to learn Polish. Her interest in languages led her to create two constructed languages ("conlangs"): Ninfeano (January 2003) and Tamopae (March 2003).
Her hobbies include reading, listening to music, sewing, and video games. They also include genealogy; Sabrina is involved in several websites related to Franco-Polish genealogy and is moderator of a Yahoo! group.
